Two weeks after the last spring frost, sow 2-3 seeds each in 6-8 inch mounds. Ensure the soil is moist, organically rich, and well-drained with a pH of 6.5-7.0. After germination, thin the best starts to 1 per mound. Spaghetti Squash loves sun and heat, but it will benefit from a top layer of mulch to help keep the soil and roots cool and moist. Fertilize the plants when they are about 6 inches tall, and again when the vines begin to flower. Water regularly at the base of the plant to keep the foliage dry and, after the peak of summer, remove blossoms to encourage fruiting.
